"Latest Paintings"

These latest paintings focus on the beauty of things "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete". In decay, nature is more evocative than when in full bloom as it suggests transience, a change from one state to another. These paintings aim to show that even in the moment of decay, when normally what was once beautiful would be discarded, there is a beauty, albeit of a different kind.

The daffodils in the paintings above are all painted on small wooden panels, that have been prepared with a gesso base in the traditional manner.

Above are left and centre two sunflowers and on the right a cornflower or "Bachelors' Button", all oil on canvas.
